Lockers/Luggage storage Around Fushimi Inari Shrine.

When you have limited time on your journey, you might have to visit some places with your big luggage. But if you are visiting somewhere like Fushimi Inari, very crowded, lots of steps and expecting a long walk, you want to leave your stuff somewhere safe, so you can walk around without much weight.

Unfortunately, there are not many places you can leave your luggage. Plan it in advance will make you not waste your time looking for one.

Where to leave your luggage around Fushimi Inari?

The stations close to Fushimi Inari are small, and there are not many coin lockers available. If you are travelling from Kyoto station, There are lots more of them and available in many sizes.

Options around Fushimi Inari are using coin lockers at Fushimi Inari statin or JR Inari station, or leave your luggage with a temporary baggage checkroom called “i-station”.

Inari Temporary baggage checkroom “i-station”

The best thing about this shop is that they can store your baggage in any size, so if you have a large suitcase and are worried if they fit in coin lockers, this is the place to go.

It is 400 yen per item to use the service. There is no extra charge for larger baggage.

You can leave your stuff as long as you wish, but you have to remember that they are open from 10 am to 5 pm. If you are visiting the shrine late in the day, you need to be careful as they don’t wait for you to pick your stuff up after 5 pm.

JR Inari Station.

There are coin lockers just outside the gate. There are 5 small lockers for 300 yen, and 6 medium size lockers for 400 yen. The small one is about the size of 40cm x 35cm x 64cm, the medium one is about 40cm x 55cm x 64cm. You might be able to store your carry-on luggage, but not large suitcases.

The station is open when the train is operating, between 5.30 am to midnight, and outside of the time, you can not access to the locker.

Fushimi Inari Station.

There are coin lockers on the west side of the station. There are 25 small lockers for 300 yen, 13 medium lockers for 500 yen, 10 large lockers for 600 yen, and 1 extra large locker for 700 yen.

The width is about 40 cm and depth is about 64 cm for all the sizes, but the height is either 30cm, 55cm, 83cm or 114cm.

You can access the locker when the train is operating between 5 am to midnight.

More options at Kyoto station.

Depends on your plan of the day, it might be easier to leave your luggage at the Kyoto station, where there are more coin lockers and temporary luggage storage service just outside of the station.

Crosta Kyoto Carry Service.

They are open 8 am to 8 pm and they store your stuff 700 yen per item.
